I took a short hiatus, and now I am back. For good. I have missed this place.
What I have been up to, in numbered list form, in no particular order:
1. Running. We are going to start week 4 of our training tomorrow. Walk for 2 minutes, run for 3, repeat 4 times. Every week gets harder, yet easier. Will we be able to run for 3 miles straight in 4 more weeks? We'll see!
2. I think I sprained my knee. It's fine during my normal day-to-day, but walking/running is killing it. It has made me start not wanting to run. I have to sit and ice it for awhile after every run. Don't tell me to go to the doctor.
3. I finished my differentiated reading course for my re-certification. This is a huge relief.
4. I am now at - 24 pounds. That last one keeping me away from - 25 is playing hard to get these last few weeks.
5. The last few weeks of school have been busy, busy, busy. This week we have our end-of-the-year program, I need to plan our end-of-the-year party, and I REALLY need to begin packing up. Everything needs to come home with me this year.
6. We signed up to teach Sunday School this summer. I taught during my middle school/high school/college years, so it will be good to be back. We are teaching Pre-K. Jon is a little nervous, but I think his excitement over being able to use a flannel board will carry him through.
7. I got a hair cut. Shorter than ever, but I love it. It takes so little time to blow-dry!
Tonight, we drove down to a lake that is pretty close to our house. It is near a busy toll road, but it's got a great running/bike path. We spent a bit of time there, just sitting, staring at the lake and talking. It was a little chilly out, so I snuggled up to Jon. I remember saying something along the lines of "It's kind of romantic here, don't ya think?" and his response went something like this: "It is?" Apparently, it wasn't, but you can't blame a girl for trying!
