An exciting thing has happened.
Last March, we decided to try to waste less. So we stopped buying paper towels, and bought a bunch of flour sack towels instead. We also stopped buying paper napkins with the plan to buy cloth napkins, and then all would be right in the world.
It has taken us a year to get around to finding inexpensive, white cloth napkins for everyday use. Long ago we bought black ones to use, but they are nice and "fancy" and I have weird hang ups and will not allow them to be used on a daily basis.
So instead, we have been using either a dishcloth, or using leftover paper napkins that we get when we go out to eat. Embarrassing. I don't think that is really helping the environment!
But yesterday we stopped at Target for a few things, and found a good deal on a dozen white cloth napkins. Finally! We ironed and folded them today, and now they are very proudly sitting on our dining room table. We were so excited to use them tonight at dinner.
It really is the little things in life!
