I've been contemplating starting a blog for awhile now, and decided that since I am on summer vacation and have about two responsibilities to tend to (sleeping and eating) that now was as good a time as any. My life with my husband is probably quite dull to others, but we sure are getting a kick out of it!
A short synopsis.
In March of 2009, I married this handsome dude on the windiest day of the year. I love him!
We took a lovely honeymoon to Sevierville, TN, where we rented an AMAZING cabin at the top of a mountain. Although we were really close to Pigeon Forge and all of its amazing dinner shows, we didn't go to any. We did, however, go FISHING. I realized early on in our marriage that I was going to be one amazing wife!
Early on, I tried my hand at making him some delicious homemade hashbrowns, waffles, and bacon. This resulted in us having to clean the oven (in fact, the entire kitchen), and I also burned a hole or two in our kitchen rug. One of the highlights of our marriage, for sure.
In October, I got a new job teaching Kindergarten at a public school. Hence the few responsibilities I have this summer. I loved my first year, and am looking forward to the many new adventures of my second year!
We had our first married holidays! These were exciting because I am sentimental and nostalgic and I love forcing my Christmas joy on others, namely Jon. Our tree was perfect, and real. Pine needles everywhere!
In February, we moved out of our rented house on Raehn Street. It was bittersweet. It was where we spent our wedding night, where we celebrated our first holidays together, etc. However, we had love/hate relationship with the place and our neighbor (I will save her story for another time), and were happy to find a bigger home.
In May, I took a trip with my mom, dad, and sister, Sarah, to California to visit family and go to my grandma's 100th birthday party. It was wonderful to see everyone, but I hated that the trip was so short and that my husband had not been able to come meet my family.

With June came the end of school and the beginning of Summer. My mom and Jon came to my classroom on my last day and helped me shove everything in a corner. Yay!
Since then, I have been spending my time catching up on sleep, reading, painting our kitchen and dining room, cooking, and hunting, to no avail, for sunny-yellow curtains.
That was quite a long "short synopsis". Anyways, I am having a ball and I can't wait to see what God has in store for us!
Till next time...
FIRST!
ReplyDeleteYou are now officially pretentious. Good job!
Oh, and kudos on posting a picture of me wearing something camo, my trademark gray undershirts, and with blood on my hands. I'm so manly.
I am SO EXCITED about this blog of yours! I find you to be very interesting :)
